No Rest For Wieners

Posted by: Professor Anonymous on: 21 February 2009

I’m such the SUCK teacher this week.

I mean, sure, I had some kick ass lesson plans Monday.

And Wednesday we talked the entire class period (plus some) about the articles we read… or they didn’t read, however you want to look at it.

Today, however, I had them to an in-class writing because I was at a loss as to what the fuck to do with our time. I was tired, I needed to prepare myself for the grading marathon I’d have this weekend, and frankly I just didn’t give a fuck.

There’s more drama going on in our department; the secretary came up to one of the adjuncts today and was pumping her (politely) for information on our general reaction to the meeting they held recently. That whole meeting that lasted 4 minutes and told us nothing we didn’t already know? Yeah that one. Apparently, a little birdy told her that the adjuncts were angry after that meeting (SHOCK. AWE. NO WAY. WHY WOULD WE BE ANGRY?) and she wanted to get the “truth” from an adjunct she could “trust.” Which wasn’t me. It was this other co-worker. The inherent drama to all that should be implicit, but if you don’t get it here’s the thing: I ALWAYS TELL THEM WHAT I’M FEELING. I told my supervisor that I was angry about the meeting, and why. I can only imagine that this conversation trickled to the secretary and the other head honcho, hence the discussion with others to “gauge” how they’re feeling. Because god forbid my words hold any truth or weight.

*Sigh* Motherfuckers. I seriously, seriously have no interest in working with these people anymore. I reached my tipping point today with this little piece of drama, it’s like when you have an annoying aquaintance that constantly pushes your buttons and suddenly, finally, SOMETHING is the last straw. This was it for me.

I’m going to get my fucking recommendations, I’m going to peace out, and I’m going to vent on an anonymous blog about how fucking shitty they are. That’s about all the satisfaction I can get here.

So… need to grade, need to prep for more conferences coming up this week, need to settle down with all this vampire shit because… wow… I’m on the last Stackhouse book and I finished True Blood. I’m so severely hooked, just like I get with any series I watch/read and enjoy mildly. I need to find more friends with which to discuss the series… I have one friend who’s enjoying speaking with me about them but I don’t want to overload her! *smile*

That’s it. I’m a weiner of a teacher, and that’s why my weekend is going to suck. My own fault, I’ll admit.

More later? Perhaps.

We should hang out this week and talk about the Sookie Stackhouse series. Maybe get some yummy Vietnamese and discuss a totes non-academic series, because Sookie Stackhouse is my escape from all the crap going on.

Melissa: Can we please? I’ll be in town M/W/F. Done at 3:30 or so M/W, F I’m done at 1:10. Let’s do it!

I start teaching at 3:35 each of those days. However, if you can hang around for 50 minutes and get some work done, we can go right after I finish with work.

Melissa: I’m an idiot and forgot I have meetings this wed/fri. That means I’ll be busy until about 5:15/5:20 each of those days. So we can either do a dinner one of the two days or hold out for Monday? I dunno, let’s chat about it at some point. :D

The 5:15/5:20 days would actually work out really, really well. I have a midterm (who does those?) on Tuesday, so Monday is a study day. Wow, I hope no stalkers read your blog cause we are supes totes putting our schedules out there :)

You can talk to me about True Blood, but not the books, because I ordered them from Amazon with free super saver shipping, so it’ll be at least 5 days if not more for them to arrive… but I’d LOVE to talk to you about True Blood. :-)
