Update: Academic Limbo

Posted by: Professor Anonymous on: 28 April 2009

Interview is over.

Went well, I think? Not sure. It felt like yet another basic step interview like I had already done at each of the Teacher Fairs I have attended. They didn’t have any info from the online application process so they basically had no clue who I was or what I would be saying… in that regard, I came prepared. I had all of my hard copy documents, I had a data cd for them in hand with each of my printed items already on it. I had my transcripts, which I encouraged them to copy for their records… And I had excellent answers for all of their questions.

They were not rude, nor were they overly warm and friendly. They were just…. polite? Friendly in a basic way? I dunno. I did most of the talking, so god only knows what they thought of me. There were four of them, the principal and 3 language arts teachers. I want to say it went well, but since I got no sense of “oh, we’ll contact you _____” or anything else… I don’t know.

I feel like I’m twisting in the wind. And that’s not cool.

Finishing up their online process today, and calling later on to let them know it’s finished and submitted. Hoping I can inquire as to when I could expect feedback at that time…. maybe I’ll get some sort of implication about it.

Ugh. Just feel…. incomplete right now. I wanted this to bring some closure, but really it’s just added more questions to my arsenal.

Thank you, thank you for the good luck. I appreciate it.

I’m sure it went well. They can’t be overly effusive there because they’re seeing several people for the position, but my money is on you rocking it.

thought of the moment:

No one should die because they cannot afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick.

time flies.
